Technical characteristics of the object
This example shows the processing and presentation of a TEI-encoded source within our infrastructure. During harvesting, the underlying TEI document is analyzed, structurally prepared, and indexed for further use in the portal. The viewer does not rely on a static rendering but presents the processed text together with its semantic enrichments.
Persons, places, works, and other entities can be automatically detected, linked to authority data, and made directly usable for research, navigation, and contextualization. In this example, geographical references are linked to controlled vocabularies from the Getty Institute, while bibliographic relations draw on literature data from K10plus.
In this way, originally isolated texts become interconnected knowledge spaces in which sources, persons, places, and literature can be directly related to one another. Users gain access not only to the full text itself but also to the various contexts derived from the contained information.
The example illustrates how digital editions and text-based research data can be integrated into a shared infrastructure without losing their scholarly depth. Instead, additional research pathways are opened that extend traditional full-text search with semantic linking and structured knowledge networks.
