Example of a collection object with standardized person linkages and role-based contextualization

Technical characteristics of the object
This example illustrates the linking of a collection object with persons who may be related to the object in different roles. These include, for example, manufacturers, artists, collectors, previous owners, restorers, authors, or other involved actors. The roles are recorded in a structured way and can be used both for research and analytical evaluation.
All persons are consolidated in a dedicated person index and are thus available independently of individual objects for search, navigation, and contextualization. Alphabetical facets, role filters, and suggestion functions enable a quick entry point even into large data sets.
From the person records, all linked objects, events, or collections can be directly accessed. In this way, networked knowledge spaces are created in which not only objects but also the involved actors become visible and searchable.
For further enrichment, authority data sources such as the Integrated Authority File (GND) can be integrated. Additional information can be incorporated during the indexing process and linked with existing datasets. This creates consistent person profiles that combine institutional data with external knowledge sources and sustainably improve the quality of research.
